GET AWAY FROM THE BEATEN TRACK AND INTO THE GREAT OUTDOORS
Hello and welcome to North Gwent Ramblers website. Last updated on 08.10.2025.
As you may know, we are a walking group that cover a wide range of group walks from strenuous hill and moderate walks to leisurely stepping stones all over the Brecon Beacons, Wye valley, Herefordshire and the South Wales valleys.
At North Gwent Ramblers, our mission is to inspire and empower people to explore the great outdoors. We believe that hiking is not only a great way to stay fit and healthy, but also a way to connect with nature and disconnect from the stresses of daily life.
Our group was formed in early 1981 with 15 members, enthusiastic walkers from different towns in Blaenau Gwent. Our first walk took place on Sunday, Spring Bank Holiday 1982. See the full story here.
